so i just bought a vr headset it's pretty much an impulse buy yeah i got it so for some reason i really just wanted a vr headset so i just hopped on amazon looked up the oculus quest 2 because it's an all-in-one system and i ended up buying it and honestly it was essentially free for me because i had a lot of amazon affiliate money and gift cards and then also some cash back from my credit card so basically you know this was essentially free which is pretty nice it's here it's so hard to do this

one hand all the time [Music] here we go right there [Music] so yes i did cave in and buy a vr headset this is the oculus quest 2 and it's 128 gigabytes it's weird because when i bought this this was like maybe a day or so after like the facebook shutdown happened where pretty much all the facebook services were off so hopefully nothing happens like that again where it might affect something like this but yeah recently i just like went to an arcade it's actually called frankie's here and i

was playing beat saber on one of the vive headsets but it was just really fun i was like you know what i kind of want my own personal vr and like i mentioned before i had like amazon affiliate gift cards saved up and some cash back so essentially this was free you know even though i had to pay for it you know i still earned it basically but yeah i just want to end up getting this because this is a completely wireless system you don't have to plug it into anything everythi ng is just stored in it

that's why there's actually the 128 gigabytes uh here because your storage is actually in the device itself so let me just unbox this real quick for you guys so now i think this is just the coverage to slide through if i'm right all right you've still got the oculus logo here let's see if i can open it here we go i don't want to drop this out i'm not i don't want to tilt it too far you see here we got all the stuff in here okay so i can say it's definitely a f airly simple um box setup it's

actually easy so i can actually pull out one of the controllers right here here is the other one so i guess you would hold it like this maybe i don't know i haven't i haven't used this they go hold it like this so there's the grips right here your thumb actually goes inside this loop where there's an analog stick and then there's triggers on the side and then there's an x and y button uh on there too and there's also a menu button too yes you know controllers pretty nice it's nice and hands got

also the safety strap on here and then we got the headset itself so this is going to be interesting for me because i actually wear glasses so we got to see how that actually fits with my glasses oh look there's a glasses space in here let's see i don't know we may have to try that and see how that is so this is the headset right here you know pretty lightweight not too heavy or anything got a silicone cover and then some instructions th at tell you how to actually set up the headset and adjust it

let me see if i just put this on real quick it's kind of like elastic okay let's see oh with my glasses it still fits on fine this is weird like you know i can't see a single thing because this thing's not powered on do they look cool yeah with my glasses they still fit on unless you got like some really big frames um but like i mentioned before they also have this glasses spacer so maybe we'll see how that works so that's t he headset itself it's also got um some more covering on it it's got

some settings i appreciate like there's a volume button on the bottom here i'm pretty sure there's a power button on the side right here i might get a close-up but yeah so power button also this is usbc charged and it's got um you know some sensors around the corner of the setup but you know really sleek design uh it's also very stretchy at least when putting this on so i didn't really have to adjust it maybe lik e i have a pretty big hit i'm just gonna say that but all i had to do was put on

like this kind of stretch it forward and then it was on yeah so that's the headset you know really sleek design actually you know actually that was one of the reasons i really liked it compared to some of the other headsets and the fact that it's completely wireless it's pretty game changer for me because for one of my senior design projects i actually had to use a vive headset and you know setting up the base stations to actually track the headset and everything else was you know a little much

so having something like this that's all in one system it was you know pretty good idea for me the next i'm pretty sure there are some charging cables in here and other accessories this is probably a user manual reference guide so you get one like that and then you get a usbc to usbc uh cable with a charging dock so this is a usb-c powered adapter and then you put the cable nut and then th at goes into the headset which has the usbc uh connector that's pretty much all it is so you get two

controllers the headset and then all the cables you need pretty simple setup comes in a simple box very nice easy to open easy to wrap up good job oculus and facebook all right so now i'm on the oculus app and they can see it's asking for which headset i have the quest to and then continue and then i had to look for the headset so i'm gonna turn this on also lily rise i stopped filming that it already like connected i didn't press the power button so i wonder if it already connected so let's try

that and see how it is put this on right it's not on so the button was like right here i think we'll feel like two seconds it said the manual all right powered on that's why it looks so goofy all right you guys can't see what i'm seeing right now but i'm just seeing the oculus logo um also this does have built-in speakers i just heard the audio from it i see the num ber in there you guys can't see what i'm saying it's verifying it heads up here put on your headset to finish device setup

that's that's all i said right there oh is it telling me to pull pull these things pull it out oh wow i pulled this i can't even see oh it okay now the controller is popping up in it get four okay so these are the main triggers on the back now you guys can't see anything i'm seeing but i'm just setting up the thing so it's just uh showing me the language s selecting english i could i gotta say like the sound is actually going to my ears pretty well even though there's no like definite spot for

like speakers on my ear at least that i'm seeing you can also adjust the length of the space of your lenses in here uh to also adjust for blurriness all right now it's doing a wi-fi setup next to my wi-fi tutorial now but yeah it's just going through a little animated video of some animated people using the vr headset okay now it's updating s oftware let's say i can remove my headset and then keep my headset charging and it'll play a sound when the update is complete this is so funny i can't i'm

like looking in the camera i don't even know if i'm looking right in the camera direction i i can't see anything at all i think i'm looking at the camera though so as you can see i got it charging in the usbc port um but yeah you know it's just gonna play a noise when it's ready there's an icon right there that's either gonna be y ellow or green possibly it's yellow right now but i don't know if you could probably tell but just let you know the charging status and i got naruto manga right

there and luffy but if we move oh it's different people like ace and then sabo and i think it just played the noise my left controller updates in progress and it's at 95 and now it's succeeded it just buzzed updating updating updating updating 45 right controller updated now both of them are charged up and i see both o f them oh it's the back trigger i'm stupid whoa so i can actually i'm sorry i'm just so flabbergasted right now but i can actually like see my room right now but it's black

and white and then um it's actually like detecting the floor so i had to like get up and actually move so i might have to change rooms i don't think i have enough room here let me see real quick i'm drawing the area right now it's cool that's like detecting where my objects are though so like on my bed here it's showing red dots saying that this is the object and it's it's still like detects the height where the floor is which is really cool like it's actually kind of trippy seeing this this is

think facebook messenger and yeah see it's already seeing that i want a beat saber so i'm probably actually just gonna go ahead and buy that pretty soon and then we'll maybe get to playing that maybe you'll see me test drive that but if you just want to see like so you know this is w hat the menu looks like i'm using my uh controllers here i don't know if you can see on the recorded video but there's the analog stick so i can actually scroll down with that and then there's a back trigger

there's a side trigger also and then the two buttons like i mentioned all right well um i'm probably gonna stop recording for now i'm gonna end up getting beat saber and then maybe switch rooms so i'm not like too cluttered and then you know maybe you'll see me play that okay so you may not be able to see right now but i've been more of an open space now i got beat saber downloaded some other stuff just kind of browsed around so let me put this on so now you should be able to see them in the vr

environment if i go to my profile right here actually created an avatar while i was waiting so you can see here there's actually a decent amount of avatar settings for um you know your physical feature so like there's a body [Music] skin tone air right face sh ape and like usually at least like for like the hair or whatever there's like a decent amount of choice that you can go all the way through and you can see there's just a lot of settings to go through between hair and clothes so i actually

thought that was pretty cool i don't really know exactly what it's for the avatar's gonna use but pretty cool they can set up avatar for this okay so recording on the vr headset was interesting i messed up uh multiple times so i actually played bea t saber already but it just captured like my camera here but not the actual gameplay so i'll play some funny clips uh if you want to see that oh oh oh oh okay right wait i think it's the one i played in the arcade it's the same song oh i'm messing up

think that's gonna wrap it up for the gameplay you pretty much get you know how a vr headset works um but yeah you know so far so good i think it's only lagging a little bit at moments because my batt ery's low um but yeah you know pretty impressive fire no cables didn't have to set up any um base stations or anything like the vive not saying vive is bad but this is a easy for beginner getting started into vr headset kind of thing all right so now it's been a few days since using this vr headset

and i gotta say i am not disappointed with my purchase at all overall i think it's a really good hesa especially if you're just starting out with vr the headset being an all-in-one system is honestly like the perfect thing for a person just getting started into vr it was a simple setup it really just comes with the headset two controllers charging cable and the manual it walks you through setting up the whole thing and overall it's just like very simple to use so i kind of just want to cover

some extra things after using it for a couple more days so i actually figured out that the controllers here are actually a battery powered they're not lithium ion so they are n ot rechargeable it actually has a double a battery inside that and you have to replace it when it dies or you can get rechargeable double a batteries but for the most part they seem to hold a really long charge from the battery so i don't get to worry too much about that also something else with the headset is you can

actually turn on bluetooth pairing so if you you know have a lot of sound leakage that's coming out from the vr headset then you can connect you know like your air pods or even like over-the-ear headphones if you can fit them over but one thing i did notice is that um i don't know if it's just with beat saber because i found this online too i had issues when trying to play beats here with my airpods it it kind of made the game laggy and the beats weren't on sync so just keep that mind if you

want to play with like bluetooth headphones with the oculus now it did seem to be in sync when i was just using it in general like through the oculus ho me page but this is a small thing i noticed but i heard that one way to fix it it's not really a fix but they actually do have um a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack that actually works better than you know using it wirelessly if you're going to be playing beat savers specifically so speaking of audio the actual built-in speakers for the headset i

think are honestly good right out the box i don't really think you need to be getting separate headphones um it's really impressive that the re's no like dedicated speaker headphone on it like the vive has but it sounds like you're actually you know hearing it at directly at your ear which is really impressive so um you know really sleek design with it while still getting the audio there i thought that was really impressive so with the comfortability honestly i have glasses and they seem to fit

just fine you know it was like a little tight at first but they have adjustment straps on this so you can get it a little more c omfortable it is going to be a little tiring if you're wearing it for super long periods of time um but honestly whenever you're playing vr you shouldn't wear this like too long you should take breaks with you know taking it off and having a break in between whatever you're playing so with another thing battery life honestly my battery life lasted pretty long if

you make sure you have a full charge when starting throughout the day now when the battery starts getting low might get a little laggy at some point so that was just like you know one thing i noticed but that's pretty much pretty common if you know the thing's about to die and you're playing some heavy loaded games on it or something but so far i've really just been playing beat saber so far i've actually gotten pretty good at it over time since filming the video so i've been playing most my

songs on hard and honestly i don't know i was like you just kind of pick it up once you start playing mo re some other things i got like i think i just have like youtube vr and then i downloaded a demo for like this creed boxing game but i haven't tried it out yet so i still have a lot of games and other things to try out so if you have any recommendations please leave that down in the comment section below but for the most part i can say i'm definitely satisfied with this purchase if you want to
