[Music] okay moving on to the next part of our video we're going to talk a little bit about the facial interface uh in the beginning of this video when we did the unboxing we talked about the facial interface that comes with the the stock unit so basically when you get the unit out of the box this is the facial interface that you were going to see it's basically just a foam pad with a plastic piece around it that snaps into the headset itself so this it's okay it's it's it's just foam um it's

not real real padded and it's a very basic piece of plastic here and i'll show you what i mean by uh basic and um what the difference is uh in a minute um but yeah it's very basic and it's foam and the problem with foam is you're going to sweat inside the headset um when you're doing things in vr um you're a lot of times it's physical and you're doing physical things in vr and you're wearing a headset that gives off heat and you're going to have a tendency to sweat and you do not wan t to be

sweating into this foam facial interface that is going to absorb sweat you'll quickly realize that you cannot remove this it's glued onto this plastic piece so once you get this saturated with sweat it's going to start to smell it's going to get you know kind of rank and you're not going to clean it you can use the silicone cover that comes with it that we showed you in the unboxing video but again that's not very comfortable and it feels a little weird on your face becau se it's just a piece of

silicone um so what we're gonna do right now i'm gonna show you some different options for your foam facial interface so let's get rid of this because it's not very good we're going to talk about two i'm going to talk about the first one is going to be the one that i originally bought when i first got into vr it's by a company called vr cover they're very very good they're probably the most known name brand in the market for um for virtual reality facial inter faces this is the vr cover facial

interface now you can see it looks exactly like the one i just threw away um basically the only difference is it's much much more padded okay now if you want to take a look at this padding it's way more padded and it's like an imitation leather material which is much nicer it can be washed it can be cleaned it can be sanitized and the padding is very thick it's got a nice rubber nose guard and you're like well what's the nose guard why is that impo rtant well this is going to block out light when

you put the headset on so basically as this goes over and over your face your the headset has a tendency to allow light to leak in from the bottom and this is going to block out that light so you get complete immersion when you're inside the headset now you see a couple other things here you can see there's some venting here that was not on the one i just showed you that came with it there's some venting here again that will allow the h eat to dissipate so you don't get fogging inside the headset

again you're going to be doing strenuous things inside you know in virtual reality um and you can have a tendency to sweat especially with the heat of the headset itself and uh when you sweat you're going to give off um fog inside the headset it's just gonna you know the the lenses will start to fog up and this will dissipate some of that uh some of that heat and some of that air the hot air in there and it will allow some c ooler air to get in so you don't have fogging of the lenses so yeah

this is vr cover very good you can see i'll show you how it snaps in it's just like the other one that comes with it it basically just you just push it in you'll see where it recesses okay and then just push down till you hear a little snap and that literally is it folks i mean now you have your new facial interface on the vr cover comes with two thicknesses of facial interfaces that's there's a thin one and a th ick one um i like the little bit of the thinner one okay and the reason i do is

because it gets my face a little bit closer to the lenses of the headset and it doesn't it will make your field of vision larger so it doesn't feel you're like you're looking through binoculars the closer you can get to the lenses the wider your vision will be but there is a thicker one if you like to comfort a little bit more now we talked about the other foam facial interface could not be cleaned be cause it's attached to the plastic here velcro okay so when you if you want to clean it or if

you want to change it to the other facial thicker pad you can just pull it off it velcros off and then you have it and then you can put your new one on very very nice now that was the one i bought when i originally bought my headset since then vr cover has become very popular and they are now charging for the name uh so they're very very good but they know they're good and they know that e verybody knows their name so what i have found is that this one right here to me is the better buy it's just

as good quality as vr cover but it's not as high of a price it's called it's made by a company called kiwi design and you can see them here in our background they are a group partner and it is a vented facial interface and let's take a look at it okay so again two of different interfaces you have the thicker and a thinner pad so you can decide which one you like better the thic ker pad or the thinner pad okay and then you have a nice venting on the back if you saw the what i just showed you with

the um the vr cover look at the venting on this one it's almost twice as much of the venting part of it and it just opens everything up to allow that air to get out and get and change and so you can get some cooler air inside the headset and get some of the hot air out of the headset again velcro on so you just fit it to where you want it to fit so it works best for your face okay has the nice nose flap that we talked about and again snaps right in just line everything up okay just line

everything up push down you'll hear a little snap and that's it you're in and you're ready to roll and that's it just like that these seem straightforward but they are going to really increase um your comfort inside the headset the face that you know you're going to be cranking this head strap and this headset down on the front of your face um and it wil l hurt you after a while if you don't have a good facial interface the vr cover or definitely the kiwi are a way to prevent that and again look

at that venting that you see now in the top of the headset all that venting will allow uh air to dissipate hot air to dissipate it'll have some cool air in and you'll get rid of that fogging that you might have so all right guys that's another part of our video that is the facial interface we'll see you for the next one take it easy [Music] t
