it's playoff season for american football so what better time to check out a vr football game on the quest 2. today we are checking out mvp football the patrick mahomes experience on the quest 2 huge shout out and thank you to the developer for supporting the channel and sponsoring this video this quarterback simulator will put you in the shoes of a quarterback as you play through 15 minute four quarter full games we're gonna go ahead and check out the game but stick around after the gameplay

for some of my thoughts on the experience let's jump in right now all right here we are inside of the patrick mahomes mvp football experience you got some pitbulls right here you can you can pet nice big pitbulls you can pet we're actually in the high school area right now i'm going to show you each of the three areas there's three different ones there's also a playbook here really quick i'll show you where you can actually change your audibles you can pick the plays you can actually edit them

and adjust them move the people around all that good stuff you've got stats here your quarterback rating how many touchdowns interceptions you've had don't look at those if you've got practice here there's quite a few settings you can have you can auto detect the height auto skip stuff you can turn the dominant hand change the aim assist power assist all that stuff we're gonna take the voice over and we're just gonna turn it down a little bit i've got the music off right now just because uh that

way you can hear me a little bit better and then this is where the fun stuff happens so my current season this is my high school i'm 1-0 i won the first match against the wranglers you can play full seasons so what you do is you actually play what is there eight matches eight matches in the high school season you are the wildcats high school team that's our season we're playing right now you can end your season which i'm going to do because in just a second fi rst i want to show you a high

school game and how it looks the stadium looks like when you're playing then we'll jump into each other one the games are quite long it's actual full 15 minute quarters four quarters per game and so it does take some time to actually play through the game this is where you start off let me just turn this down a little bit loud this is where you start off during high school games you got your nice uh pit bulls right here this commentary by patrick h imself and you've got the crowds now the art in

this game is going to count down here tells you what exactly is happening what's going on with live stats we're on the field now the play cox going down let me just pause this for a second so i can tell you a little bit more about what's going on here the uh the visuals are very basic in this game um and i'm okay with that it kind of reminds me some reason of the tecmo bowl back in the day the way that it kind of plays the sounds the wa y it looks simple but effective you cannot move around your

quarterback your thumb sticks don't do anything so you're just going to stand in one spot right in the pocket and the main part you can actually run around if you wanted to and move around and as people come your way defenders you can get out of the way if you have enough space i actually plan on getting a full room scale for this game so i can show you room scale it didn't happen the locations i wanted to get uh just didn't work out and with all of the sickness and the virus and everything

going around it's harder to find a place right now to rent a place so we're just doing it here in my normal place um let's unpause this i'll show you this is the wrist plays you can choose from you test the play that's been chosen but you can always audible that's the coaches call you get your timeouts here when you want to hike the ball you're just going to hit the trigger button you're going to watch for your p layer you want to throw it to that was a bad throw still i think i threw an

interception for you yep i did run it back for a touchdown first play and i throw in reception that was awful absolutely terrible now we've got the ball back and we are losing 13 to nothing that's great um let's try this again so you hike the ball you're going to look for your player you want to throw the ball to there we go and you toss the football just like a normal game obviously the throwing that throne actually feels pretty good in this game um it has aim assist power assist you can turn

it all off it gets much more challenging when you do that let's see what we got here let's see if we can hit that person going outside over there just like that there we go run did you make it did he make it yes nice play awesome job see the the sound effects the visuals kind of very retro tecmo bullish which i think is actually kind of cool all right so we're actually going to end our sea son there it's gonna not save we'll lose all the progress that's okay we're gonna hit yes so you can

choose from high school which i said is eight games you could choose from i'm gonna end the season there you choose from college which is what 10 games we're gonna show you that in just a second or you can choose pro and this is 16 games unlike this season where they decided to add at a game 17 games for this season in the nfl this is 16 games shows your record there let's jump over to the college and we'll show you what college look like looks like we're gonna play the bobcats so we're gonna

hit play we're playing as the ruby rustlers in college this is the college stadium much bigger than the high school stadium considerably bigger so patrick actually has voice over that changes based on what you're playing with high school if it's college or if it's uh pro all right here we go so the stadium is much bigger you can see we're the home team because um th ere's a little bit of fans right there for the opposing team other than that we're the home team oh we're doing like a hail mary

type of play right now nice run oh i got jack all right i want to show you the um what do they call a promo mvp mode that's what it is it's like a time slowing thing so if i wait long enough let's just hold the ball here for a second that's what happens it'll actually turn black and white and it gives you a chance to either dodge out of the way throw the ball whatever whatever it takes to actually win the game two yard gain that was awful let's see let's call an audible let's do a pitching play

toss all right let's see if we can actually get a decent play here run oh that was awful that was terrible should have done that on a second down all right that was an awful play the pro stadium is much much bigger feels like you're playing in a pro actual stadium nothing can stop you from claiming your destiny at the top of the league got a pit bulls here so we are in a pro league now kick off the headman we're at headman we're at the 27-yard line and your announcers will be different in this

too you'll actually have real announcers in this to talk let's try to hit that guy over there you ready oh too hard now the throwing mechanics in this game they do account for your full swing throw how hard you throw it what am i doing toss uh a couple of yards not very good it does account for how far back you actually throw it s o if i pull back into a full throw it's going to go a lot farther oh that was terrible i'm doing awful i need to concentrate on what i'm doing here actually play fourth

down all right i'm not gonna do a running play why would i do a running play if they're gonna make me go for it i'm just gonna go for it ready we're gonna hit that guy on the outside of the right-hand side ready there we go just like that go for it on fourth down take the risk get the ball down the field exactly like t hat all right as you can see time is moving it does move faster the play clock's moving fast um so it is faster than normal time but that still leaves you quite a bit of time for

uh for a game i mean it's a very they're very long games they're they're full length four quarter 15 minute quarter games so it's going to take you some time all right here we go you ready there we go just like that you see that bullet that was just thrown trying to be a professional quarterback draw the at tention over here and throw the ball across the body all right now we got to do a pitch here run it in run it in get past that uh go go go go ah crap here we go here we go here we go how we

got over there oh wait too hard what the heck was that all about that was terrible there we go nice little toss into the end zone and touchdown just like that that is how it's done one of those two whichever one is open that was terrible i get it anyways i actually got it total accident a total accident i just got that all right i'm gonna wait i'm gonna drop it to this guy you ready ready ready ready oh no oopsies i was sacked that was bad i waited too long ready go that guy's jumping i might

have a chance that was a touchdown what that was not a fourth down that was an awful call by the refs that was terrible there that guy ran right into the end zone there was no way that was a fourth down two minutes down in the first quarter see this is what i'm saying this is a longe r game we're still in the first quarter of this game let's see if we can hit this guy way up top here oh that was bad that guy's open yes oh he was open okay here we go that guy gotta open in the back corner over

there let's see yep that's what i thought man these freaking guys are tall i'm gonna shoot a laser you ready for this it's the third to 13. here we go ready no i'm not gonna shoot oh i did nice that was freaking awesome right over the top a shot right out of my hand like it was a gun i wonder if they would react if i pump fake somehow i doubt it we're gonna try it okay let's pump fake to one side we're going to do the other ready pump fake [Applause] oh crap that was awful they obviously didn't

react with that crap the bomb faking throwing interception all right ready let's do this nice nice nice nice blew right by number 71. come on nice right along the route good job buddy touchdown there we go on a fourth down a touchdown 28-26 we're making our wa y down the field that guy's wide open over there that was a terrible pass though too high terrible terrible pass what was that that was a terrible pass all right we're gonna go for a long pass this time ready ready [Music] i dodged it nice

that was actually pretty good touchdown time ready bring it in bring it in bring it in oh right on the goal line come on buddy what oh darn that stinks i didn't go fast enough [Applause] get go bus go past yes nice okay good i made it past that def ender at least got a few yards a few yards on a first down's not so bad all right here we go hike almost intercepted that was terrible i'm gonna try one of the out routes that guy over there nice that was a blow out of a pass just boom right over there

all right here we go when you connect on a pass like that it feels like you're actually just oh he's on the goal line [Applause] come on all right hold on let's see if we can get a pitch play in here you ready [Applause] oops i pitched you to the wrong person well sorry 25 wasn't your day all right so 38 to 38 we got an interception it looks like so we have a chance to to actually win this now or at least to get us ahead again run run oh you got so close buddy all right let's get this two points

get even further ahead nice there we go wide open in the end zone just like that nice now we're ahead again 52 right now see if we can get these two points we need this two-point conversion because if they get a score anothe r two-point conversion we're playing from behind again i don't want to play from behind again ah wide open everyone ran to the back of the end zone they just stopped there and i tossed it in for a two point conversion all right we're waiting by two points right now oh

yes [Applause] score nice touchdown nice job buddy two minute warning let's keep moving here we go let's get this uh get this started there we go at least get the clock started get a few yards get the clock start ed counting down all we're gonna do is play the clock now so we're just gonna let this wind down we're gonna run one more play just for the sake of running let's do a toss okay that'll be a safe bet keep the ball rolling there we go we got creamed but the game is over we won just like

that what our first professional game look at that boys we've done it all right there is some gameplay for mvp football the patrick mahomes experience i personally have a fun time playing this game ov erall i think that it does well what it sets out to do and coming into it having the right expectations will set you up for whether you're going to enjoy this game or not visually it is pretty basic like i said in the gameplay it kind of reminds me of something like the tecmo bowl or something of

that era where it's more simplistic and arcady looking and feeling when it comes to the visuals and the sound effect now this also is a quarterback simulator so when you think of the game don't think of it from the standpoint of defense but of playing the offense there are some options for you playing offense like controlling the player after the catch with the joystick which you can use i found that that doesn't happen most of the time because the defenders are pretty good at what they do so

they'll tackle you pretty quickly and the ai does a pretty good job at running so i just stand there and watch most of the time the biggest thing in the game that i hope that t hey eventually add is the ability to actually move around with the joystick as the quarterback it's awesome to be able to juke back and forth and dodge defenders that are coming at you and if you had a big room scale area you could move around a lot more physically just like patrick mahomes really does in real life but i

wish that it had artificial locomotion just because it could get me moving and i could see the actual receivers a little bit better my favorite part about the game probably is the fact that it actually has long full feeling games and it's got a season to it where you'll start either in high school college or pro you'll play through an entire series of games against different teams and they're long games 15 minute quarters four quarters per game even with the time sped up it's a pretty long

decent chunk of time i also like the fact that you can suspend the game or just get out of the game and then come back later and finish if you don't hav e time it just pauses it for you and asks you if you want to continue the game when you come back next time makes it easy if you don't have all of that time and you just want to jump in and play a portion of a game as well but let me know down in the comments what you think of the game is it something that you might consider picking up have you
